Our Forge is open (and sheltered from any rain!) for the feast day of St. Dunstan on May 19th - make sure you dip your hand in the blacksmith's trough, it may cure that baldness right up! ππ
Live music all day, so pop down and have one in the Forge for St. Dunstan!
Perhaps the most famous story of St Dunstan is his encounter with the Devil. A mysterious woman with a hood was said to have entered Dunstan's forge one day, but Dunstan noticed her feet were hoofs! Dunstan grabbed the Devil and nailed a horseshoe to his foot, in a particular way as to cause the Devil great pain! Dunstan only agreed to remove the shoe and release the Devil after he promised never to enter a place where a horseshoe is over the door. This is claimed as the origin of the lucky horseshoe.
Join us on May 19 to celebrate the patron saint of blacksmiths!
