While Paud O`Donoghue Forge/Swans Pub has gone through many changes over the years, the Swan family have tried to retain some of the pubs original charm and character, retaining old signage and restoring old machinery used by the locals and often made locally in the blacksmiths forge.
This includes the rebel blacksmith’s trough, which is on display right outside the forge. Don’t forget to dip your hands in the trough before entering the forge. According to legend, you can cure onset baldness, warts or squinty eye.
